Preschool I
The Preschool 1 Class (Dolphin Room) comprises children ages approximately 2 to 3 ½ years.
This class is the stepping stone to the Preschool II class. It is the introduction to the structured learning program used in this and all subsequent classes as the children age. In this room, we introduce the concept of rotating groups to different learning stations, such as manipulative, dramatic play, art, sensory, and transportation. Students are provided opportunities to work independently and in small and large group settings. Additionally, daily written and verbal communication between parents and teachers helps us plan for each student and strengthens parent/teacher relationships.
There are many goals we strive to achieve in this classroom, including becoming fully potty-trained! At Tomorrow's Child, we do not push children into using the bathroom, although we encourage students once they express interest. We also work on fostering children's independence and developing self-help skills. Depending on age, becoming toilet trained, maturity level, and demonstrating appropriate behaviors within a variety of settings, your child may be in the Dolphin Room for one or two years.
